Personal project: a full microservices architecture (auth, shelters, animals, adoptions, notifications, gateway), each service owning its own MySQL database with no cross-service foreign keys. Services communicate via internal HTTP calls protected by a shared secret, or through asynchronous events (Redis/BullMQ) for email notifications. The adoption workflow is modeled as an explicit state machine (reserved, finalized, cancelled), written as a pure function with no framework or database dependency, unit-tested in isolation. 171 tests (Jest/Supertest) across all services. Bilingual (French/English) React 19/TypeScript frontend, Docker Compose orchestration.
